I finally decided to open a repair business of my own. I’ve been saving money for the past 3 years. I bought a building last month and now I am ready to staff the company with certified technicians. I have four people in mind to help me with the business. The other competitors in Lansing, Illinois, don’t stand a chance. I’ve looked at the competition. There is a single mom and pop heating company located in Lansing. There is a single air conditioner repair service in Lansing as well. Everybody else calls services in Chicago. Many of these service providers charge fees for the longer service calls. I knew that offering HVAC repair services in Lansing would be beneficial for business. During the first week in business, sales were slow and so were repair calls. I quickly realized that I was going to need a website or some type of social media presence. I found a business to help me advertise my HVAC company in Lansing. I absolutely think this helped a great deal. After only 30 days, sales were through the roof and repair calls were coming into the store every single day. I honestly never expected business to be this strong after only eight months. The way things are moving along, I almost think a second branch would be beneficial. Unfortunately, I think I have already hired all of the good HVAC repair technicians in Lansing. My wife doesn’t love the idea either. She doesn’t want to see me get too big too fast. She said it’s better to have one busy repair service center instead of two places that are semi busy.
