I have always wanted to own an air purifier.
When I moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama I decided that I was going to spoil myself.
I always had bad seasonal allergies. The dust, debris, and hair bothered my sinuses. I planned to get the biggest, best air purifier on the market. I even found a Tuscaloosa HVAC dealership and was going over options. Then COVID-19 hit. All the sudden all the Tuscaloosa businesses had shut down. I couldn’t get a HVAC business to call me anymore. Once the threat lessened and there were partial hours, people were buying out all sorts of IAQ devices. No more HEPA filters, air purifiers, air scrubbers, cleaners, or even dehumidifiers. What is the deal with that? I had to get on a waiting list to get my air purifier due to this. COVID happened for years. Basically two years of my life I was waiting to get my dream air purifier. Now that it finally ended, I don’t know if I should get one. I have spent the time researching air purifiers. They remove dust, dirt, and debris from the air. They are good for people at home a lot. However you need to regularly change their air filter and also perform yearly maintenance. It is invasive, expensive to run, and hard to access. Do I really want this? I have been really good about airing out my home, keeping things clean, and trying to lessen the amount of pollutants. I now am not sure if an air purifier is best for Tuscaloosa living.
