It used to be a huge vacation hub for my in-laws. My husband’s family would frequently come and visit us throughout the year. We lived in Florida and it was a constant stream of guests. Sometimes I would have 6 extra people in my house since so many were visiting. My husband made it easy on them. He would drive them to and from the airport. I would make all the meals for everyone and clean the rooms. They got basically a free vacation. All they needed to do was book flights and everything was taken care of. My husband would book a beach house and entertain everyone on the beach. He would organize golf, brunces and all sorts of fun Sunday activities. Now we live in Portland Oregon. At first I was bummed by our location. We lost our really nice weather and gained a much colder climate. There is not as much to do in the area either. I then realized that nobody in my husband’s family wanted to visit us anymore. Suddenly they didn’t see the need to see us as often. Nobody wants to fly to Oregon. What is that state even known for? I am glad that nobody has figured out recreational cannabis is here. I think his family would be all over us to see the dispensaries and pick up the products. I am keeping that a secret. It is nice finally enjoying my house in peace without company. My husband and I got really sick of being the hosts for people.
