My dad decided to get an HVAC repair in Plano, TX last week without telling me first and I think that was a big mistake on his part.
My dad knows that I am a certified HVAC technician who has been working on air conditioning systems, heat pumps, furnaces, boilers, and all kinds of other HVAC equipment for almost ten years now. I guess I just don’t understand why in the world he would not have called me and asked me for my opinion before he hired some random HVAC repair service in Plano TX to come and do work for him. I think I was a little bit offended that he did not take advantage of my expertise when he could have. My dad was always fixing things around our house when I was a kid, and the only thing I can figure out is that maybe he just didn’t want to feel like I am smarter than him at something. I guess that can be an issue for death and their sons as the sons grow up, but I really didn’t think we had that kind of relationship. However, he ended up hiring someone who did not really do a great job. He needed an HVAC repair, but he ended up with more issues than he had started with. I am pretty sure that he hired a company with bad reviews because he never goes online to read anything or to figure out who he should hire in the first place. I could have helped him avoid all of that if he had just asked me first.
