My husband and I met abroad. We were planning to go to his home to get married before the pandemic hit. This was our second marriage, so we didn’t have a lot of things planned. Just a small ceremony with friends and family around us. But, I was happy we still had my family and friends we both knew when we got married. His family got to attend the ceremony by streaming it live. We made arrangements to travel to the US to meet his folks and kids. But it was never the best time. Between work and the pandemic, we hoped to find a solution. Finally, last spring, my work became remote, and I could travel anywhere I wanted. My husband and I took the opportunity to fly to Denver to meet his family. My two grown kids decided to tag along, and this became a family vacation. We all had such a wonderful time meeting his mom and dad in Denver. One of his sons was there, but the other only managed to speak to us via video conferencing. We planned to stay in the US for a month, so we knew we’d fly to the west coast to meet him too. Denver surprised me because it was the most beautiful place in spring. My husband showed me around, and we even got to go on many dinner dates. There was so much to do with the kids and alone. We even went to a local cannabis dispensary and got ourselves some CBD balms, creams, and other products that we wanted while we were in the area.
