I needed to find something to keep my kids from rebelling.

I never expected my kids to go from adorable and loving children to rebellious teenagers.

  • I remembered them being so sweet and polite.

They were shy and listened well, but not anymore. It was like someone had flipped a switch when they turned thirteen. I now had three rebellious teenagers who weren’t happy with their current situation. I had the audacity to drag them away from their friends and force them to go to Orland Park, IL for a weekend. I wanted to visit my family, but they could care less. When we got there, they poked on their phone until I took them away. They discovered my dad’s old Nintendo game and started playing with it. I told them to lose the phones, the games, and the attitude or I would tie them to the kitchen chairs until it was time to go home. I got a collective group of grumbles and unrecognizable grunts and answers. My dad said he had the perfect thing for them to do. He took them to Space Golf for the day. I remembered dad taking me to Space Golf in Orland Park, IL, and I remembered how much fun we had. It wasn’t until my dad got home with the kids that I knew I had nothing to worry about. They had fun even when the skies opened up and it rained on them for a half hour. They said it just cooled them off, and they had even more fun. I guess I should have known my dad could make any kid happy, even when they are in their rebellious teenager stage.
