I moved to Denver to make more money in the HVAC industry

We’ve been in Denver for six months and things are much different here than they were six months ago.

My wife and I were living in Arizona, where the weather was warm and mild during the winter. We had snow every once in a while, but only in the higher elevations and nowhere close to the area where we lived. Unfortunately, I wasn’t making a lot of money in the HVAC industry. The mild weather made it unnecessary for heating or air conditioning devices and most homes. When my boss offered me a raise and a salary position if I moved to a new location, I immediately went home to talk with my wife about moving to Denver, Colorado. The move to Denver was a big deal for several different reasons. My wife’s family all lives in Arizona. She really didn’t want to leave them behind and move to Denver. When I showed her the offer I received from the owner of the HVAC company, she started thinking about our future. It was impossible to give up the HVAC industry job, especially when she saw all of the perks, benefits, and the bonus schedule. We’ve been in Denver for six months and things are much different here than they were six months ago. I work 6 days a week and I have access to all of the overtime hours that I want to work. My wife and I have been getting along very well, even though she hasn’t been near her family or her friends. I think she likes being in Denver, where there are a lot more cultural activities and things to do. She’s making friends fast and that makes me happy as well.
