Last year, my daughter Cassie wanted a pool party for her eighth birthday.
- While we don’t have a pool, we live close to an aquatic park where we could use the pool facilities all day.
She has been to this park many times before and she has always loved going to it. So, it made sense that we had her party there. The park is Burdette Park in Evansville. Not only is there a huge swimming pool, but there also have day shelters that you can rent for events. Additionally, there are overnight cabins available. I have stayed at the cabins before, and they were very comfortable. However, I have never used the day shelters, but I was happy that I did. The shelters had all the amenities including air conditioning. They are much better than a pavilion because they are indoors and can fit a small group of kids which is perfect for a party. And because her birthday is in the middle of the Summer, I was happy that the rentals had air conditioning. Over the last few years, we have been getting warmer weather outside. Last year, we had heat waves in Evansville, so the temperatures rose into the 90’s in the Summer. And it seems like we are getting them again this year. I personally am not a fan of the heat, so being in an air conditioned space works better for me. And the best part was, the kids loved that the pool was close by. So, they were able to stay cool while they swam. Cassie’s birthday is in a few weeks and she has not mentioned anything to me yet.
