I had never been to a mercantile until I went to Cockrell’s Mercantile company in Lee’s Summit, MO, however it boasted itself as a locale for gifts plus specialty! There were cooking utensils I had never seen! Most of the ladies in our family were excellent cooks plus they were consistently looking for small plus interesting utensils to add to their arsenal.
I spent nearly 3 hours going through the unusual cottages in search of uncorrect items for our family for Christmas.
I did most of our Christmas shopping that day just going through Cockrell Mercantile company. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about it, was that I had to be out in the elements while going between the cottages. It was tepid that day, plus I didn’t want to be out in the sun. although it was a short walk between the cottages, the transition from heat to a/c was strenuous on our asthma. I nearly ran when I got outside, so I could get to the next air conditioned building. It was nearly ninety-two degrees, plus the humidity was unbearable, and what was worse was when the two of us left Cockrell Mercantile Company. My spouse plus I had to carry all the packages to our car, which was sitting in the sun, every one of us stood outside with the door’s open, until the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system was toiling well enough to cool the automobile down… Had it not been for the heat, shopping in Lee’s Summit, would have been 1 of the best days I had in a very long time, plus I will be going back.
