Getting warm touring the Sunken Gardens

During a recent trip to St… Petersburg, FL, our partner plus I decided to visit the Sunken Gardens, then it is a hidden gem in the middle of the city! The botanical hideaway originated 100 years ago. It was created by a family who bought a sinkhole plus decided to make the most of it. Some of the tropical plant species are over a century old. There are over 50,000 different varieties of tropical plants plus colorful flowers. The winding pathways circle around truly pretty pools, waterfalls plus water gardens. There are sections that include a walk-through butterfly garden, a cactus garden plus Japanese garden. The people I was with and I enjoyed the pink flamingos, brightly colored koi, parrots plus kookaburra birds. The people I was with and I expected to spend about an hour checking everything out… Unfortunately the paths aren’t marked all that well, plus the people I was with and I took a wrong turn. It took us nearly many hours to find our way back to where we’d started. This wouldn’t have been a immense complication on a cool afternoon, then however, that afternoon, the temperature was in the mid nineties with high humidity, however my partner plus I live in the northeastern section of the country, where it never gets that hot, our apartment isn’t even equipped with central air conditioning. The people I was with and I run the gas furnace for approximately eight weeks of the year. The hot plus sticky conditions were brutal. The people I was with and I were both drenched in sweat plus exhausted from our leisurely meander. The people I was with and I had plans to head straight to supper. Instead, the people I was with and I decided to go back to our hotel, took chilly showers plus cranked up the air conditioning.
