I recently had a baby and I wanted to make sure the condo is overheated enough for him! Elgin, IL gets particularly freezing swiftly and it stays for a long time! The condo has a gas fireplace and a ventless oil furnace in the living room, then i wasn’t sure about the baby’s room though.
I particularly didn’t want to put a space oil furnace in her room because that could be a fire hazard, then my condo didn’t come with air duct so I couldn’t add a furnace or anything like that. I talked to my local Heating, Ventilation & A/C business in Elgin and asked for advice! She told myself and others that I could particularly install a mini split in the baby’s room. This is a ductless machine that mounts on the wall. It can control both heating and cooling in a single unit, then what is wonderful is that I paid extra to have a smart control machine with it. Now at night I can alter the control machine from my cellphone. I can ensure my baby is at the right temperature, and baby’s run a little hotter than every one of us do. However, residing in IL means the weather is freezing a lot, and so I make sure that the baby’s room is at least 73 degrees at night. I also like to have a fan going to make some sounds. This addition to our condo was more than worth it. I don’t care if my wife and I freeze all Wintertide long. My baby girl needs to have the proper amount of heating in her room. Eventually I plan to add onto the outdoor air compressor. That means my wife and I could have a mini split in our room. Someday every one of us could even get rid of our other heaters.
